Company Overview
ALung is a pioneer in the development of respiratory assist technologies that are expected to provide a superior alternative to traditional, invasive respiratory support. Our Hemolung Respiratory Assist System is a safe, simple therapy designed to improve clinical and quality of life outcomes while reducing the cost of care.
ALung is commercializing the Hemolung Respiratory Assist System (RAS) for the benefit of patients and their caregivers.
The Hemolung is a safe and simple-to-use respiratory assist system that is expected to allow patients in acute respiratory failure to avoid intubation and mechanical ventilation. The Hemolung may also be used as a supplement to mechanical ventilation to shorten the amount of time patients spend on the ventilator and in the ICU. The dialysis-like system effectively supplements lung function through a single, small catheter, removing up 50% of retained carbon dioxide from the blood, while also administering oxygen.
Clinical trials in Europe and the US are underway.

ALung Technologies, Inc. offers health care, dental and vision insurance, short and long term disability, life insurance and AD&D benefits and a 401K plan as part of its benefit plan to regular full time employees.
• Health Care: Employee premium is paid 100% by company and the premium difference between employee and dependent cost is covered 50% by the company. The employee portion of the premium payment is made on a pre-tax basis through payroll deduction. (Highmark)
• Dental and Vision insurance is offered and paid 100% by the company for all levels of coverage. (Delta Dental and Vision Benefits of America)
• Life Insurance and AD&D Benefits: Employee premium is paid 100% by the company. The benefit level is two times base salary with a maximum of $500,000 or VP level and above is three times base salary with a maximum of $600,000. The non-medical maximum is $275,000. (UNUM)
• Short Term Disability: Employee premium is paid 100% by the company. Policy pays 70% of salary with a weekly benefit maximum of $1,600. (UNUM)
• Long Term Disability: Employee premium is paid 100% by the company. Policy pays 66 2/3% of salary to a monthly benefit maximum of $11,500. (UNUM)
• 401K: ALung provides for participation in a 401K plan (American Funds) through payroll deduction. There is no company match.
• Supplemental benefits are offered through AFLAC at 100% employee cost.
