Company Overview
Founded in 1998, Outcome spun out of a Harvard affiliated research laboratory. The company has focused on outcomes studies since its inception and has dedicated itself to leading the way in patient registries, post-approval research, and quality improvement initiatives.
We have designed, developed, and managed an industry-leading number of patient registries and post-approval studies and have expertise and experience in more than 30 therapeutic areas. Our programs span the globe, with thousands of sites across North America, Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, and Australia.
In addition to working with life sciences companies, we also partner with many providers and healthcare organizations, specialty associations, hospital associations, pharmacist associations, managed care organizations, state departments of public health, Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs), and government agencies. In fact, nearly 2,000 healthcare organizations are our direct customers.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
2004 - An Outcome registry receives the 2004 Innovation Award from the Department of Health and Human Services.
2005 – Health and Human Services Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) selects Outcome as one of the 13 research (DEcIDE) centers to conduct accelerated practical studies about the outcomes, comparative clinical effectiveness, safety, and appropriateness of health care items and services.
2006/2007 – Outcome leads the development of the AHRQ reference handbook, Health and Human Services Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) The purpose of the handbook, released in May, 2007, is to serve as a reference for the design, use, and evaluation of patient registries.
2007 - An Outcome registry receives the 2007 eHealth Initiative Award.
2008 - On April 1, 2008, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office approved the issuance patent number 7,353,238, "Apparatus and methods for determining and processing medical outcomes” that covers several innovative aspects of our industry-leading Outcome System®.
