Company Overview
The Biostatistics Center is a research facility of The George Washington University under the Office of the Vice President for Research. The Center serves as the coordinating center for large scale multi-center clinical trials and epidemiologic studies. Established in 1972, the Center participates in major medical research programs of national and international scope, frequently leading to major medical advances.
Most of the over 65 major research projects undertaken by the Center have been under the auspices of National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other Federal agencies. Center faculty and staff have published over 225 articles related to statistical methodology, clinical trials or epidemiologic methods, over 710 articles presenting the results of medical investigations, and several books.
The Biostatistics Center is staffed by over 109 employees including many masters and doctoral level statisticians and computer systems analysts. The staff has extensive experience and expertise in biostatistics, epidemiology, clinical trial study design and data management, and administration and coordination of multi-center research studies.
Current funding is at over $50 million per year through grants, contracts and cooperative agreements with the NIH and several other research sponsors.
